BULL FOR 2600 GNS.
N.Z. Hereford Sale
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ July 24. A two-year-old bull was sold for 2600gns—300gns above the previous highest price—at the national Hereford sale in Palmerston North today For the first time a Hereford bull was bought for export to England. A new breeder. West Home stud, of Invercargill, made the 2600gns purchase, for Papatahi Flash, offered by Mrs B. M. Donald at Featherston. The English buyer was Mr R. Osmond, of Grimsby who secured the supreme champion. Rosdawn Co-pilot, offered by Mr W. R. Cowan, of Otorohanga. Throughout the sale, bidding was sporadic and only first-rate beasts aroused any attention. Of the 25 lots offered for auction, 10 were withdrawn because the reserve price was not reached.
