‘Saucer Expert 9 Not Known At Woomera

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 24. Dr. Robert Randall, who was introduced as having claimed to have worked in rocket research in Australia, outlined his theory on flying saucers in a 8.8. G. television news broadcast last night.

Dr. Randall, who declined to give his Australian address on the grounds of “security,” said he still worked at the Woomera rocket range. But at Salisbury, South Australia, Mr A. T. J. Woolcock, chief administrative officer for the Weapons Research Establishment, which includes the Woomera range, said: “We do not appear to have any record at Salisbury or Woomera of a Dr. Robert Randall."

Dr. Randall told the interviewer the markings near the Dorse* crater suggested the flying saucer had legs. They would have discovered this could be repaired from inside the craft. This would explain the absence of any other signs on the ground. "The bomb disposal unit is treating it simply as a normal job, because there are indications of something metallic in the earth. We understand the hole may have been caused by a meteorite. but do not feel qualified to support any other theories as to the cause.” Sergeant James Reith, who is in charge of the bomb disposal squad probing the erater, said he had met Dr Randall at Woomera a few years ago, the “Daily Mail” reported. “You can take his vord as one of authority on these matters,” he said.
