Port Charges Increased

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 23. Thff Auckland Harbour Board decided today to increase port charges by a net 20 per cent. The increases will become effective at the start of the board’s financial year on October 1 and are expected to increase revenue by £400,000 yearly. No increases will be made in charges on exports of butter, meat, cheese and wool in order to stimulate exports. Increases will not be spread evenly over other port charges.
