‘FASCISM IN SYRIA’
(N.Z.P A.-Reuter —Copyright) CAIRO, July 23. President Nasser said last night Egypt was not prepared to unite with the treacherous” Ba'athist Government of Syria.
He told thousands of cheering people in Cairo's Republic Square that Syria had changed into a Fascist regime, whose motto was: "Kill them, oppress them, smash them."
President Nasser said he did not believe the Government represented the Syrian people. He said he regretted that Cairo was celebrating while Damascus was in mourning. Darkness prevailed in Syria, where people were being “unlawfully inhumanly and dishonourably” killed, he said.
