N.Z. Shares Firmer, Australians Ease
New Zealand shares were very firm yesterday but overseas issues—mainly Australian—weakened after the easier trend apparent in Australia on Monday.
Manufacturers and Retailers Acceptance rose Is after the report of increased outstandings. Felt and Textiles were Is up in first ex dividend business.
Rothmans fell Is 6d in sympathy with the easier trend in recent Australian sales. Falls by other Australian shares were smaller.
