The champion Russian high jumper. V. Brume!, broke his world record today in the Soviet Union-United States athletics match.
He topped 7ft s?in. beating his previous record by quarter of an inch. The United States won the men’s match by 119 points to 114—the narrowest margin in the five meetings. The Russian women beat the American women by 75 points to 28. The United States has now won all the men’s matches, and Russia all the women’s matches.
