ESSAY PRIZE PRESENTED
A pupil of Sacred Heart College, Rosemary Eady, winner of the essay competition held by the University of Canterbury Drama Society, received her prize of sgns from Miss Ngaio Marsh at last evening’s performance of the society’s production, “Henry IV” The subject of the essay was whether Hal is a more intelligent and subtle character than Hotspur. About 40 pupils from secondary schools competed, and the organisers reported a high standard.
