RICH U.S. DOUBLE
Attempt By Cadiz
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) INGLEWOOD (California), July 22.
The New Zealand-bred gelding, Cadiz, heads a field of nine in the 83,000 dollars Sunset Handicap at Hollywood Park tomorrow, United Press International reports. The mile and five furlongs race winds up Hollywood’s thoroughbred meeting and Cadiz will try to become the eighth horse to win the rich double of the Hollywood Gold Cup and the Sunset.
Cadiz made ■ a smashing comeback in the 162,000 dollors Hollywood Gold Cup 10 days ago. Cadiz will break from the outside post carrying topweight of 8-10 with his jockey, E. Burns. A win tomorrow would raise Cadiz’s earnings to more than 300,000 dollars in the two years since he arrived in the United States. He is raced now by Vicgray Farms.
