Marsh Moves To Oamaru “The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN, July 23. R N. Marsh, who completed his apprenticeship with A- N. Didham at Wingatui a shoe* time ago, has joined J. C. Hobbs's stable at Oamaru. He will replace W. D. Skelton, who leaves this month for the North Island. The winner of 21 races this season. Marsh will ride Dawsac and Benefice at the Christchurch Hunt meeting at Riccarton on Saturday.

New Owner For Sirrom

The five-year-old, Sirrom, a high-weight winner at Trentham in March, has been purchased by Mr A. H. J. Gudsell. of Wanganui. Earlier. Sirrom (Cappielluca—Great Queen) was raced by the Marton owner-trainer. Mrs P. G. Harris, for whom he earned £ 1230 from two wins and five minor placings •his season.

This year Mr Gudsell has gained notable success with the hurdler, Summerford, which he purchased cheaply in April Since then, the gelding has won four races and £2660.

Kindling, Leon's Beau, and Captain's Gig, will not come to Australia for the Australian Hurdle and Steeplechase next month, the Melbourne "Sun News-Pictorial” racing writer, J. McPherson, reported today. Their trainer, B. A. V. Preston, said ths from his home at Otaki last night, McPherson says. "Preston said that Captain’s Gig would contest the Grand National Steeplechase and Kindling the Grand National Hurdles at Riccarton during the same period as the Caulfield double.”

Horses Sail For Melbourne

(N.Z Press Association) INVERCARGILL, July 23. Six horses—four standardhreds and two thoroughbreds —sailed from Bluff this afternoon for Melbourne on the Waimea. The pacers include Bolas, Whiplock. Braces and Dieman Dan. The gallopers, which have not been named, are two-year-olds. Bolas was owned in partnership by Messrs A. J. and D. P. Dynes, who have the young champion. Tactile, and trained at Wyndham by the latter. He showed smart form as a four-year-old this season, as did Whiplock. Both have been sold to Australia.
