SCULPTURE NOW GIFT
Support For Gallery (N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 23. The anonymous donor who last week bought the Barbara Hepworth sculpture. Torso 11 for display in the Auckland Art Gallery on indefinite loan today decided to make a gift of it to the city Mr G Rix - Trott, chairman of the Mackelvie Trustees. said the donor felt the gift was the best way he could express his confidence in the director and the directing of the gallery Mr Rix - Trott said the aci'lpture had been packed and dispatched by ship from England to Auckland He did not know the name of the ship.
