Priests Save Two Girls

A priest, swimming without a life-jacket towed a teen-age girl to safety through seven miles of choppy Lake Pontohartrain. near New Orleans, last night and obtained help for three' other persons banging on to « swamped 18ft outboard motor-boat Another priest held on to a three-year-oW girl and the disabled boat for 11 hours until help arrived. All five persons in the boat were reported recovering today after suffering exposure and exhaustion during the long ordeal. The Rev. J. Sauvageau. aged 45. swim through seven miles of petrol-covered water to pull Lannie Gatot aged 14. to safety. Father Sauvageau reached shore with the girl in about five hours. They then ran two miias along the lake's Isolated north beach to obtain help.
