Competition For Cooks
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY July 22. Twenty cooks, including a 14-y ear-old boy from Perth, transformed the ballroom of a Sydney hotel into a large kitchen today as they tried to bake their way to a £2500 firs- prize.
Nine judges spent the day eating biscuits, cakes, savoury and main course dishes to pick the winner. The “bake-off” contest is being sponsored by the Australian Dairy Produce Board and a flour miller.
