GAS WORKERS’ WAGES
Increase Of 4d An Hour
Christchurch gas workers had received an increase of 4d an hour as an outcome of their recent dispute, the town clerk (Mr J Thompson) said at a meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council last evening. He said the council would have to decide whether it would increase the wages of its gas employees accordingly
“The increase would apply only to three inkers and would amount to about 15s a week each,” he said
The suggestion of the Mavor 'Mr J B Collett) that the wages be referred to the council’s gas committee for consideration was adopted
