The Southbridge Country Women's Institute's recent thirty - second anniversary celebration took the form of a mock wedding A wedding cake was curt by the "bride and groom.” toasts were honoured with popular songs, and humorous speeches and telegrams were read Those taking part included Mesdames A. O. Love. W Ludemann, G. Healey C Tod. J Dugan. N. Maw. T Montgomery. F. Bearman. M E Clark, and W. Clark. The pianist was Mrs R H Parkin and a vocal solo was given by Mesdames A Stewart and R. Wylie Guests included representatives of the East Canterbury Federation of Country Women's Institutes, local institutes and kindred organisations Competitions were won by Mesdames C Johnson, J. Chapple, and I. Smith.
