R. Wilson And Neill And Co.
DUNEDIN, July 8. R. Wilson and Company, Ltd., and Neill and Company, Ltd., two 'of New Zealand’s oldest merchant firms, have merged in a new £291,000 company. Wilson, Neill, Ud.
The merger was pnnotinced today by the directors of the two companies, each of which has been trading in Dunedin for more tiia-n 100 years. "As the result of negotiations between the boards of the two companies. it was decided that the best form of merger in the circumstances was for R. Wilson and Company to make the shareholders of Neill and Company an offer of exchange at shares,” the announcement said. "This offer has been accepted by more than 90 per cent, of Neill and Company’s shareholders, and the board of R. Wilson and Company is proceeding with the amalgamation.”
The name of the firm is being changed to Wilson. Neill, Ltd., and Mrs G. A Neill and Messrs Dermot Neill and W. G. Aitken have joined the board of the company.
