(2) The eight auxiliary fuel tanks are jettisoned during flight (3) After the payload has been delivered into orbit the booster returns to earth and lands on its retractable landing legs. (4) Meanwhile, the jettisoned fuel tanks are recovered from the sea after landing by parachute.
