CAR PARKING DISPUTE
No Change By Employers (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 8. Representatives of the Auckland Port Employers' Association today told the Federation of Labour that they still accepted no responsibility for car parking for waterfront workers. Mr T. E. Skinner, acting president of the F.0.L., who led a deputation including Waterfront Union officials to see the employers and discuss the parking issue, said that the meeting was brief. On June 1, the Auckland Harbour Board imposed parking fees for cars of waterfront workers except its own employees. The watersiders boycotted the board’s two car parks and refused overtime normally worked. Last Monday they returned to normal work pending discussions between the F.O.L. and employers.
