Cycling French Tour
(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BORDEAUX. July 1. The Belgian rider, Gilbert Desmet, kept hia lead in the Tour de France cycle race when he finished sixth in yesterday’s eighth stage—l 44 miles from Limoges to Bordeaux. ■ Desmet returned the same time as the stage winner, a fellow-countryman, Rik Van Looy—shr 34min 20sec. There are still 13 stages to go before the 2500 miles race ends in Paris on July 14.
