Carlton Win With Guest Players
A Carlton team, with four "guest" players, beat a team of former Malvern representatives, also with a few "guests." by 3-2 In a friendly women’s hockey match played at Jellicoe Park yesterday. G. Phillips (2) and K McKerrow scored for the winners and F. Whisker (2) for Malvern.
Seaman Drowned. The body of Edward McGrath, a 61-year-old seaman of Auckland, who was employed on the vessel Kowhai, was recovered from Newcastle Harbour today. Mr McGrath fell from a gang plank on Wednesday night.—(Sydney, June 28.)
