YOUTH CONTEST
Entries Close On July 5 Entries in the 1963 “Young Miss and Young Mir New Zealand” have been slower than expected, but the high qualifications of those candidates who have entered are satisfactory, according to the organisers. • The organising committee of the Christchurch Junior Chamber says a lot of eligible young men and women may have been put off entering by the wide range of details required on the entry forms. K emphasises that the contest is neither a beauty contest nor a talent quest. Everyone who passes the preliminary selection will be interviewed. Contestants, who must be under 21 and hold School Certificate, have until July 5 to enter. Entry forms can be obtained at most stares.
The winning girl will be sent for a year to Mbnte. Rosa College, a finishing school on the shores of Lake Leman, Switzerland. The boy will spend a year at an American university.
