Three Teams Unbeaten In Winter Competition

After the third round at Wilding Park yesterday. three teams—St, Albans, Opawa, and Beckenham—were left unbeaten in the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association's winter tolar-club competition. Previously unbeaten also, South Christchurch was beaten by Beckenham by 5 sets to 3 when each won three matches. However, Beckenham obtained the two sets on the women's doubles by default. St. Albans beat Sumner by 5 matches to 1, and Opawa beat Avonside I by a similar margin. Two teams, Reddiffs and Avonside 11, gained their first wins when they beat Avonside in and University respectively.

Mixed Doubles.—Fletcher and Miss Cheeseman lost to Black and Miss Woods, 0-9; Fletcher and Miss Cheeseman lost to Kinzett and Mrs Kinzett, 4-9; Stewart and Miss Hill lost to Black and Miss Woods, 3-9; Stewart and Miss Hill lost to Kinzett and Mrs Kinzett, 3-9. Avonside II won by 6 matches to 0. St. Albans v. Stunner Men’s Doubles.—R. Wright and F. Teear beat E. Watson and E. Blacker, 6-0, 6-1. Women's Doubles. —Mesdames P. Robinson and M. Teear beat Mrs H. Mixed Doubles.—Wright and Mrs Robinson beat Watson and Miss Andrew, 9-7; Teear and Mrs Teear beat Blacker and Mrs Duncan, 9-0; Wright and Mrs Robinson beat Blacker and Mrs Duncan, 9-0; Teear and Mrs Teear lost to Watson and Miss Andrew. 3-9.
