Watersiders Lift Ban On Overtime

(Neto Zealand Press Association)

AUCKLAND, June 30.

Auckland waterfront workers will resume normal work tomorrow. For three weeks the men have been refusing to work overtime. The Auckland Harbour Board has agreed to a Federation of Labour proposal to meet to discuss the waterfront parking problem.

The board will suspend parking charges for waiterfront workers until the discussions are completed. A statement issued tonight by Mr T. E. Skinner, actingpresident of the Federation of Labour, and Mr R. C. F. Savory, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, said that Mr Skinner had approached the board during the week-end.

His suggestion that the board and the F.O.L. should meet to discuss the dispute had been agreed upon on condition that the men resumed normal overtime work tomorrow.

The meeting is expected to take place toward the end of this week after Mr Skinner returns from a visit to Wellington.
