Council Pays Theatre £l5O (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 13. The Wellington City Council has expressed regret to Unity Theatre, Inc., for an error it made concerning Unity’s August production of "The Lower Depths” last year which resulted in the council cancelling the theatre's bookings in the Wellington Concert Chamber. Payment of £l5O has been made by the council to the theatre group as compensation for the loss caused by the cancellation. “The council has expressed its regret for the error which it made in stating that lampblack was used by Unity Theatre in setting up the stage for its August production and has invited Unity to resume its use of the concert chamber,” says a joint statement issued by the theatre and the council.
