Porter, said today he was satisfied the police did their duty properly in dealing with an injured driver who was charged later with having driven under the influence of alcohol. A Court was told yesterday that the mar. Herbert Charles White, had a broken leg. broken knee and a deep cut on the nose, out he was taken to two police stations and given a breath test before being given medical aid. Dr. John Birrell. a police surgeon, was asked at the hearing why the man was not taken to tuopital from the accident scene. He replied: "Because at that stage I thought he was under the influence."
