Impropriety Denied
(N.Z. Press Assn — Copyright) MELBOURNE. June 13. The Victoria Police Commissioner. Mr S. H. Porter, said today he was satisfied the police did their duty properly in dealing with an injured driver who was charged later with having driven under the influence of alcohol. A Court was told yesterday that the mar. Herbert Charles White, had a broken leg. broken knee and a deep cut on the nose, out he was taken to two police stations and given a breath test before being given medical aid. Dr. John Birrell. a police surgeon, was asked at the hearing why the man was not taken to tuopital from the accident scene. He replied: "Because at that stage I thought he was under the influence."
