APPEALS BY CHURCHES
Call For More
Imagination
More imaginative thought needed to be given to the appeals that went to the public, the Rev. A. W. Baxter told the Christchurch Presbytery. He was speaking on behalf of his parish. St Columbia. The church’s session had sent a request to, the Presbytery that street appeals and door-to-door collections for the Children’s Combined Trust Board appeal, be replaced with a new method of collection The minister of St. Ninian’s Church (the Rev. R. J. Griffiths) said that his session supported this request. The matter had already been discussed in a meeting in March, said the clerk of the Presbytery (the Rev. T. G. Campbell) and nothing more could be done till a new method was suggested. Neither minister had any suggestions.
