Governesses Going
The governess who, with the nanny, has been something of an institution in English life, is going The last agency through which a governess could get work is closing. The main reasons are the better salaries, better hours and greater freedom offered to the young woman who teaches in a school. The demand from abroad has also dropped off. The very few governesses that remain in England are growing old and no young women are taking up the work.—Lonjdon, June 10.
