N.Z. BATTLE HONOURS
Plaques For Parliament (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 12. Mr J. Gawn, a Wellington sculptor, is engaged on carving 15 rimu battle honour plaques for tirf chamber of the House of Representatives. Thirteen of the honours are from World War 11, one from the Korean War and one, overlooked many years ago, for the South African War. The plaques were designed by Mr Gawn's partner. Mr A. J. McCready. They are in the shape of crossed laurel leaves with a ribbon at the top on which the names of the honours are mounted. The 14 World War II honours are: Battle of Britain. River Plate, Crete, Atlantic, fortress Europe, Greece. Sidi Rezegh, Alamein, North Africa. Pacific, Orsogna, Cassino, Senio and Korea.
