ADOPTION CONTESTED

Three French judges will today begin hearing an action ty Lady John Hope who is seeking to annul Somerset Maugham's adoption of his 57-y ear-old secretary, Mr Alan Searle.
None of the principals is expected to attend the hearing, which wall be behind closed doors.
Lady Hope is contesting her father's adoption of Mr Searle as his son, which was approved by a Nice court last June.
