Permit Did Not Cover Minors

WELLINGTON, June 11

An extended hours permit for a social function at a hotel does not entitle a licensee to supply liquor to minors, according to a reserved judgment given in the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt today by Mr J. R. Drummond. S M He fined Alexander Robert Broome, licensee of the Olympic Hotel, £5 on a charge of supplying liquor to minors.

At the earlier hearing, Mr G. J. Joseph, who appeared for Broome, submitted that the minors were entitled to be at the hotel as they were bona fide guests of the company which held the function.
