Demolition To Be Enforced

If the City Council did not receive an undertaking from the owners of the Manchester Private Hotel that they would pull the building down immediately they regained possession, then it would take steps to enforce the demolition order, said Cr G D Griffiths, chairman of the council’s town-plan-ning committee, last evening By a Supreme Court decision. the owners of the building, which has been condemned by the council for a considerable time, will regain possession from the lessee on November 1. The sooner the building was demolished the better said Cr. Griffiths. It had been a disgrace to the city and Manchester street for too long.
