DISPUTE AT MANGERE

Twenty-three grader operators and truck drivers on the Mangere airport project went on strike today after their employer, Taylor Wood-row-Wilkins Davies, transferred a driver to the labouring staff because of redundancy The Northern Drivers’ Union maintained that the driver who was the last to be hired should have been the one transferred Talks between the union and the firm today failed to reach a settlement.
