<N Z.P A -Reuter— Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, June 10 Push-button tear gas canisters which fit snugly in the pocket and have a 16-minute blinding effect from a range of up to 12 feet have been on sale to the South African whit.? public since Friday The canisters, invented by Mr Gunther Pruss. who once worked in a gas research unit of the German Army, are being sold in Transvaal arms and ammunition shops for about £4 No licence is needed for the canisters—which work like a pressure pack spray—but sale is restricted to whites over 18 who must produce identity cards and sign a special register
