If Francis Kuipers, the young Dutch minstrel whose application to sing in the street was rejected by the Auckland City Council, applies tor a permit to strum his guitar in Wellington he is likely to get a more sympathetic hearing A bit of such gaiety would be welcome in Wellington according to the chairman of the Traffic Committee, and Mr D G Porter, chairman of •he by-laws committee Both saiu today they were in favour of a livelier city They saw nothing against' giving a permit to a strolling player in search of local colour
