Rolls-Royce Sold For £9000

WELLINGTON. June 10
The Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) today confirmed that of the two Rolls-Royce cars purchased for the Royal tour, ore had been sold for £9OOO and the second had been retained for use on State occasions
Mr Lake said altogether 21 ' tenders had been received. One car had been sold to the highest tenderer but none of the tenders received for i the second car had been coni stdercd adequate • The Government had decided. at the prices offered •hat the public mterest would ! be better served by retaining : this vehicle for State occa-s*-ms when a vehicle of this type was required to lend a proper dignity to the ooca- ■ sions.
