Sportsman’s Notebook Unbeaten Teams To Meet

Two teams unbeaten this season, Otago University and Lincoln College, will play their annual" match at Rhodes Park, Tai Tapu, at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The early starting time is to enable the Otago team to catch the south-bound rail-car at 5.20 p.m. The Otago team is particularly strong this year. It has won a total of 25 successive club games in the Otago competition and a further two inter-university games, giving a total of 27 successive wins. The current team includes five Otago provincial representatives—-C. R. Laidlaw (half-back), E. W. Kirton (first five-eighths), D. 4. Montgomery (wing threequarters), and M. C. Meikle and C. D. Mantell (locks). The All Black second five-eighths. W. A. Davies, is. not available because of a broken finger.

Lincoln College is still unbeaten in the senior reserve grade and has amassed 186 points, with only 21 points being scored against. The Tai Tapu ground is in perfect condition, and Mr L. S. Kirk, a leading Canterbury referee, will control the game

The annual match between Canterbury University -and Otago University will be played at Dunedin on June 26. The Canterbury. Country team, which will play Town on June 29, will play Canterbury Maoris at Rangiora tomorrow.

G. A. Bartlett, the New Zealand fast bowler, will play for West Christchurch-Univer-sity next cricket season. The former Marlborough and Central Districts representative took up residence in Christchurch at the week-end and yesterday started work as a carpenter with a construction company.
