The £ was firm on the world s foreign exchange markets last week. Small changes in sterling’s favour were recorded against the North American currencies and against several European currencies
Altered exchange rates, as advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales, are as follows:

Switzerland: 1216 francs 112.15); 1189 francs isame).
