Bowls TOURNAMENT PROFIT
No Teas On Two Days
Mr W. R. Featherston told the meeting of the Christcihurch Bowling Centre last evening that a profit of over £4OO had been made a<t the lest Dominion tournament held in Wellington. This profit, he said, was because of two wet days, which saved the expense of morning and afternoon teas.
In committee Mr J. T. Bisman read seven remits and notices of motion from seven centres and councillors, which will be considered at the next annual meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association. The president (Mr T. A. Leitch) told delegates that the next meeting would be the annual meeting of the centre and would be held on Monday, July 15. Mr Featherston said this would be his last meeting as he was not seeking a further term as a delegate. He has served tor 27 years. Mr Bisman spoke of the valued services given by Mr Feaitherston during his term of office. Mr J. R. Smith and Mr T. A. Leitch endorsed the remarks of Mr Bisman and said that some tangible recognition be made of Mr Featherston's services at a later date. Mr Leitch also mentioned the retirement of Mr G. Macdonald, who has served many years on the centre as a delegate and centre president.
