ELECTRICAL OFFICER
Lt. Mulgrew’s New Post
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 10. Lieutenant P. D. Mulgrew, of the Royal New Zealand Navy, has been appointed to the naval communications school at North Head as electrical officer. He will replace Lieutenant F. L Short, who has been transferred to H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel. The appointment will take effect from July 1. Lieutenant Mulgrew, who lost both legs from frostbite while climbing in the Himalayas, has been passed fit to return to general service on shore. He had to pass a full medical examination.
“I have been looking forward to a return to general service very keenly.” he said today. Lieutenant Mulgrew has completed the work he has been doing in the naval research laboratory, where he has been working for about a year.
