After the Fitzroy Handicap ait Ellerslie on Saturday, R C. Laing, the rider of Shehgen, was suspended up to and including June 22 for causing interference to Obrana about three-quarters of a furlong from the finish. The judicial committee decided that the interference had no bearing on the result Dividends were held up for a few minutes.
