Prisoner Escapes
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, June 9. A 29-year-old workman who was serving a preventive detention sentence in the Rangipo prison, Taupo, escaped, between 6.30 p.m. and 845 p.m. yesterday The escaper. Hitau Mehaka Rewi, was serving a sentence for a number of offences. Police dogs have joined 12 men in the search.
