Resuscitation By Mouth (HZ Press Associationl AUCKLAND, June 9 Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and the generosity of a Mangere cat have saved the life of a leopard cub born to Heidi, the neglectful mother leopard, a month ago at the Auckland Zoo. A keeper found the cub lying in the cage cold and almost dead. , Mr J. Brooks, the head keeper, began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation u+iile a truck rushed to the home of Mrs R S. Prangley at Mangere to fetch Dusty, the foster mother
Mr Brooks said today the cub was born about 24 hours after the twin cub died lasi month. The arrival took the zoo staff completely by surprise. It had been decided not to announce the birth until the cub was stronger Cat and cub will be separated soon when Dusty returns to care tor four kittens born to her a fortnight before the cub’s arrival
