ENGINEERING BALL

Cartoons illustrating engineering terms decorated the Winter Garden last evening for the annual ball of the Engineering Society of the School of Engineering The ball was held in conjunction with the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers. The black and white cartoons were sketched by Miss K Webley, an art student. The chairman of the society (Mr J F. Webley) and Mrs Webley, and the institution's president (Mr P L. Laing) and Mrs Laing welcomed the guests More than 400 people attended the ball.

M McElweei and Mrs McElwee the Registrar of the University (Mr G G Turbott) and Mrs Turboett), and the bursar at the School of Engineering (Mr W Thomson) and Mrs Thomson)
