More Success For Nora Sanderson

Nora Sanderson, a successful Christchurch novelist, has had another success —in quadruplicate She has a signed contract with her publishers for her next four books This unusual distinction follows close on her success last year, when Mills and Boon accepted three of her novels simultaneously.

The second book of the original three, “The Ordeal of Nurse Thompson,” is now on the shelves in New Zealand. Like the first, “Hospital in New Zealand,” it is about nursing, and is set in an authentic country hospital atmosphere, with which Mrs Sanderson, herself a trained nurse, is familiar. Nora Sanderson has been advised that the third of this triple acceptance, “The Two Faces of Nurse Roberts,” is being primed now and will be out in Britain on August 23.

In all her novel-writing. Nora Sanderson has not entirely neglected the younger readers, who enjoyed “The Puppycat.” She has managed

to complete a children’s serial, “Mr Imp,” for New Zealand publication, and an eight-episode serial, “A Dog Called Sed,” for the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation. She also contributes materia) to the Australasian Sunday School Board for their Text Books for Teachers.

Living at Templeton, Nora Sanderson' is near enough to Christchurch to have all the advantages of a city, yet far enough away to enjoy the freshness of the country, and a superb view of the Southern Alps. Asked if being committed to four more novels, instead of the customary “next one,” daunted her, Nora Sanderson thought a moment. “Oh, no,” she replied. “No, not at all.” This is not surprising, for Mrs Sanderson enjoys writing She has two wishes now —to buy a noiseless typewriter so that she will not disturb her family, and to travel to the Old Country that her people called "Home.”
