TOURIST FILM
Joint Venture By N.Z., Aust. (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 7. A coloured film of Australia and New Zealand for distribution in the United States as a joint promotional venture was decided upon at a meeting of heads of the New Zealand Tourist Department, the Travel and Holidays Association, and the Australian National Travel Association in Auckland today. This was one of the decisions made at the meeting, which was designed to discuss the continued promotion of the two countries together as a tourist attraction. “A survey taken a few years age showed that 96.6 per cent, of American tourists passing through New Zealand were going on to Australia,” said the director of publicity of the Tourist Department (Mr R. S. Odell). “The same is true of Australia. The two countries are associated together in Americans’ minds and the obvious thing to do is to promote them together.”
