OYSTER HAUL UP SLIGHTLY
Boat Average Falls (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 7. The Foveaux Strait oyster catch to the end of las) month has shown only a slight increase on last year in spite of toe fact that more boats are working the beds. The total tor toe first five months of this season is 31.762 sacks, compared with 30.229 last year. But the daily average catch of the fleet has dropped from 756 sacks to 662. In 1961 the daily average catch of the fleet was 925 sacks. Last season individual boats brought in a daily catch average of 63 sacks This year they are bringing in an average of 49 sacks.
