DISPUTE ON WAIRIMU
‘Claim Beyond Award’ (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 6. The Union Steam Ship Company’s freighter Wairimu, due to sail from Auckland for Singapore at 4 p.m. today, was still berthed at Jellicoe wharf late tonight. An official of the company said the ship failed to leave because the crew were making claims for privileges which did not come within the award. The claims, he said, would bp discussed at a meeting tomorrow morning. The master, Captain S. Saddler, tonight would make no comment on the men's claims.
