Gambling
Sir,—William J. Laing asks what my committee meant by condemning gambling prompted by avarice. We argued that a person might properly gamble a small part of his income, after meeting all obligations, so long as entertainment and recreation were the main considerations. In our view gambling becomes wrong when greed usurps entertainment and recreation.—Yours, etc., J. W. ROWE. Secretary, Provincial Committee on Public and Social . Affairs. Wellington, May 29, 1963
