TICKET SALES HEAVIER
Crowd Of 45,000 Expected
A crowd of more than 45.000 is expected at Lancaster Park tomorrow for the second test between England and New Zealand. Mr AL G. Teague, secretary of the Canterbury Rugby Union, said yesterday that the demand for tickets was becoming heavier, particularly from areas outside Christchurch.
“This is the finest ground we have seen on the tour.” said Mr J. T. W. Berry, manager of the England team, when he inspected the playing area at Lancaster Park yesterday. Fine weather in Christchurch has begun to dry the ground out after some heavy rain on Monday and it should be in perfect order. Mr C. Gadney, president of the Rugby Union, Mr Berry and Mr M. R. Steete-Bodger. the assistant manager, will speak at a Rugby panel discussion to be held at the Civic Theatre this evening.
