Firmer Tone On Quiet Sharemarket
The sharemarket was quiet yesterday, when only 88 local and overseas issues were traded, compared with 106 the previous day. Leading New Zealand issues were firmer and several recovered some of their recent losses. New Zealand Insurance shares made one of the day’s best gains, rising Is to 295. The B and C shares rose in sympathy. Overseas shares were again very firm, with B.H.P. a notable exception.
