BAPTIST WOMEN’S LEAGUE
Members of the Canterbury - Westland Baptist Women’s League last year gave 10 cartons of new and used baby clothing to the Red Cross Society for distribution to Hong Kong. Their project for this year is to help the Freedom from Hunger Campaign. This was reported at the annual meeting of the league recently. Last year, members helped to wrap the National Council of Churches magazine, collected for various street appeals, contributed towels and soap to the Baptist Theological College, and entertained residents of the Archer Memorial Home each month. An address mentioning the week of Prayer for Unity was given by the Rev A. McLeod Officers elected were: President, Mrs C. Collins; vicepresident, Mrs L. J. Oxley; secretary. Mrs C. W. Eagle; treasurer. Mrs N. Pizzey.
